As a pedestrian, I could never compete in a Backyard Ultra because doing 4.167 mph is a daunting task. Heck less than 100 individuals have walked 100 miles in under 24 hours (Centurion) which is 4.167 mph. This past summer I watched Anthony Culpepper and Yolanda Holder become only the 93 and 94th to do it since 1878! So you can see how a walker would not last very long in a traditional Backyard Ultra.

10 Days After My John’s Burger Grease Fall.

My pace has improved from 55 minute a mile to 25.

On March 9th, I slipped and fell on the illegally dumped cooking grease thatJohn’s Burger left on the sidewalk. It was a classic banana peel style fall and I landed with all my weight on my lower left leg.

I could barely standup and the pain was deep all Monday. I have been slowly rehabbing with super slow walks and some kettlebell swings via Pavel.

Don’t know when I will get to floating along at 16 pace on my easy days but at least I can DoorDash again.
